This page explains how to permanently delete your Shadow Companion account and all of the personal data associated with it. You can request deletion at any time. No account, sign-in, or app installation is required to read these instructions or to make a deletion request by email.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app

If you can sign in, this is the fastest way and removes everything immediately:

1. Open Shadow Companion and sign in.
2. Go to Settings / Profile.
3. Select Delete Account.
4. Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Permanently Delete My Account.

The deletion is processed instantly. You are signed out automatically, and the account and its data cannot be recovered afterward.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you are unable to sign in, you can ask us to delete your account for you. Email gilesholmer@yahoo.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request, sent from the email address associated with your account so we can verify ownership.

We process verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email once your account has been removed.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following from Shadow Companion:

• Your account and the email address linked to it
• Your Google or email sign-in identity for the app, where it can be removed from our authentication provider
• Saved journal entries
• Saved dream entries
• Journey entries and reflections
• Saved chat transcripts and reflections
• Psychological Landscape themes, Protective and Developmental Archetypes, Pattern Reports, Weekly Integration data, Daily Koan state, and Map of Consciousness history
• Quiz and assessment results stored on your account
• Personalisation data and AI-derived memory records linked to your account
• Related account and billing records held by Shadow Companion

Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play Subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play before or after deleting your Shadow Companion account to prevent future renewal. If you have a web subscription processed through Stripe, Shadow Companion attempts to cancel it during account deletion, but you should confirm its status through the web billing portal or with support. Google Play, Stripe, and other providers may retain transaction records under their own legal obligations.

What this means

• Deletion is permanent and irreversible — deleted data cannot be restored.
• Signing in again later with the same Google or email account creates a brand-new Shadow Companion account with no previous app data.
• We do not retain a copy of your reflections, journals, dreams, or reports after deletion.
